Things You Will Need to Know

Before taking a tour you will be asked to sign a waiver of liability with name, address and other identifying information. This is required for admission to the complex. When you send an email requesting a tour, an email reply acknowledging your request will be sent to you along with a waiver attachment for you to review and complete with your identifying information. Please email the completed form to us or return it when you visit. This will complete and confirm your tour. You will be asked to sign the waiver in person prior to being admitted to the facility when you arrive.

You should also to be aware of the hazards and limitations of being on and in a missile silo as outlined below.

The following guidelines are for your safety and for the protection/preservation of the silo complex:

FACILITY Guidelines

For your safety, and for preservation purposes, there are some rules that visitors must follow. Tours involve surface and sub-surface viewing and are subject to weather conditions at the time of the tour.  

• Visitors must be able to descend and climb 55 metal grate stair steps and stand for at least 45 minutes to access the underground portion of the tour. Guests unable to descend and ascend 55 stair steps or who cannot stand for 45 minutes will be limited to the surface portion of the site and will not have access to the underground area.

• Tours are limited to 6 visitors per tour. Reservations strongly recommended to ensure your preferred tour time. Tours will last approximate 1-2 hours.

• Strollers, backpacks and other large bags/purses are prohibited and must be left in your vehicle.  The museum does not provide storage for these items.

• Weapons are prohibited on all tours and are to be left in your vehicle.

• Food and beverages, except bottled water, are prohibited on the tours. Glass bottles and water with additives that include any food coloring are prohibited in the museum building and on the tour.

• Smoking is not permitted on museum grounds or inside museum buildings or while on the tour.

• Please wear walking shoes (no heels or flip flops).

• Non-commercial photography and video recording are permitted, although flash photography is prohibited. Commercial photography is not allowed without permission.

• The use of selfie sticks and tripods is prohibited throughout the museum and missile site.

• Animals are not allowed in or on the the silo complex site. Service animals excepted.

• Children under 16 years of age are not permitted on museum complex grounds for safety reasons.
