All sites are listed along with their construction photos. These were taken by the Air Force and the Army Corps of Engineers. For some, no additional information – other than the construction photos - is available. Most but not all sites were visited over 20 years ago by a team of local silo enthusiasts and their general condition documented. So some comments may be a bit dated.
Note that the construction site numbers are not the same as operational site numbers, which are those listed. For example, on photos of operational site 11 - Anson – you may notice “site 5” or simply “5” chalked on various steel framing members. This is a reference to the construction site number.
There are also photos of various buildings at Dyess AFB used to prepare and assemble the Atlas, including the MAMS building and LOX plant.
While a fair amount is known about most of the sites, some remain undocumented and little is known about them, including their current condition and history. Among those are #1 Fort Phantom, #2 Albany, #4 Denton Valley, and #8 Winters. Limited comments are provided.
More information will be added to the sites as it becomes available.
